Which Filler Is Best?

This is a question we get asked all the time!

Medical professionals who take the filler course get to learn about each of the different filler lines.

Results are based on the professional, not the product

Restylane, Juvederm, Belotero, Revanesse, Teosyal lines are all taught and discussed so that learners can make good decisions choosing which products to use and where.

Often, patients will come to the clinic to get their injections and ask for specific products or brands. Even more common is that new patients will ask not to use a specific product as they have had a negative outcome or experience.

The truth is, it’s rarely the product that didn’t give the desired result. It was the injector.

Whether it was a misunderstanding about the patients’ wants and expectations, or the filler was placed improperly, or the wrong product was used – it’s rarely because of the product itself failing.

Different products, different results

No different from car brands, filler brands have different types that all do different things.

For someone wanting lots of volume and plumpness in a lip, Belotero Intense or Revanesse Outline might be the product of choice. In contrast, more subtle hydration of an older lip might be better suited for Restylane Kysse or Juvederm Volbella.

Every injector will have different preferences, and it’s important that a clear discussion must be had, and expectations set so that everyone walks away from the experience happy and satisfied with the results.

Duration of effects vary from product to product

Different fillers also have different durations of effect. When patients say the product was metabolized extremely quickly, this typically means the product was placed in the wrong tissue plane, or the wrong product was picked for that treatment.

For example, if an injector were to use Juvederm Volift for the jawline, almost certainly the patient would be unhappy and say the effect was not what they expected.

That because a high G prime filler that is crosslinked higher would be better suited for jawline work. Juvederm Voluma or Volux would be the product of choice for the jawline, and both have great longevity durability.

With so many different dermal fillers options, injectors must be trained and have familiarity with all brands and properties to deliver the highest standard of care to their patients.
